	Early Learning Program
	The preschool accepts children from 2 – 5 years old. A full day begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. with after school care from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. available for an additional fee.    We recognize that play is the work of the child and building on the child's natural curiosity is the surest way to promote learning. The preschool program promotes equity and justice by creating a community that fosters respect, understanding and an appreciation of differences. Just as adults do not decide when a child will crawl, walk, or talk, we do not determine when the child is ready to read or write.  Therefore we offer a program that includes activities and experiences that will encourage each child to develop positive religious attitudes and social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive skills at his/her own pace. Development of essential foundations assures that children in our care will be ready to meet the intellectual demands associated with formal schooling. Acceptance into Blessed Marianne Cope Preschool does not guarantee admittance into Kindergarten at Saint Francis School; all students will be expected to complete the admission application process for any future program.
